Merry Post Xmas Santa Babies !!!!
Here are some of my go-to ingredient swaps to make desserts just a lil bit healthier, so you don’t feel SO bad about it ; ) You can use these swaps in the recipes listed below, and I included some extra ones that aren’t a part of the recipes just fa fun! I listed the original recipes below, so you can decide if you wanna make these swaps or not!
- instead of regular sour cream, use light sour cream
- instead of regular cool whip, use light cool whip
- instead of butter, use avocados
- instead of white eggs, use brown eggs
- instead of regular flour, use whole wheat flour or coconut flour
- instead of regular peanut butter, use natural peanut butter
- instead of an Oreo cookie crust, use graham crackers
- instead of regular sugar, use stevia
- instead of regular M&M’s, use dark chocolate M&M’s

Snickers Pie has been my all time favorite dessert recently. I made it for Thanksgiving for Kc because it was his favorite dessert and I wasn’t even planning on eating any because I’m not a huge cream cheese or cool whip person, so I figured this wouldn’t be up my alley … I was wrong. If you love sweet desserts, then this is for you! It’s the perfect combo of crunch, chocolate and fluff! Give it a try ๐
Snickers Pie:
ingredients:ย
- 8 oz light cream cheese
- 1/2 cup chunky peanut butter
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 8 oz fat free cool whip
- 6 snickers bar | chopped
- 1 graham cracker pie crust
instructions:ย
- combine cream cheese, peanut butter and powdered sugar in a bowl
- mix together and combine in cool whip ย and the snickers – mix
- pour mixture into graham cracker crust and refrigerate for 4 hours
Caramel Chex is always a crowd pleaser. It’s quick, easy and yummayyyy. There’s so many different things you can do with it! I just added pretzels and Christmas mini M&M’s this year, but you can do any nuts, dried fruit, chocolate chips, etc. Caramel is a perfect Christmas flavor!
Sweet & Salty Caramel Chex:ย
ingredients:ย
- 1 cup butter
- 1 1/2 cup light brown sugar
- 1/2 cup light corn syrup
- 1 (14) oz box of Rice Chex cereal
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 cup pretzels
- 1 cup M&M’s
instructions:ย
- on the stovetop, bring butter, brown sugar and corn syrup to a boil
- remove from heat and add baking soda and vanilla
- in a large bowl or sack, add cereal and coat with mixture from the stove top
- shake / stir caramel so it is coating the cereal evenly
- let cool on wax paper
- once cooled, add your choice of add – in’s (M&M’s, pretzels, etc.)
IF YOU’RE UP FOR A CHALLENGE :: these raspberry, chocolate cheese cake bites are perfect for you! I LOVE cheesecake and was feeling a little adventurous so I gave these bites a go. If you love cheesecake, Oreos and white chocolate, give dis dessert a try ๐
raspberry, white chocolate cheese cake bites:
ingredients:
- 22 oreos crushed without the cream centers
- 6 TBSP melted butter
- 6 oz white chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup half and half
- 12 oz light cream cheese
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 large brown eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 5 oz frozen or fresh raspberries
- 1 TBSP sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp cornstarch dissolved in 3 TBSP water
- mini cupcake tins
- mini cupcake pan
instructions:
- to make the crust: mix cookie crumbs with butter
- scoop 1 tsp crumb mixture into tins and press down to form crusts
- preheat oven to 325F
- to make the raspberry sauce: combine raspberries, sugar, and dissolved cornstarch in a saucepan and boil — stir often
- once it has thickened, remove from heat and set aside
- to make the white chocolate filling: in a saucepan :: melt the white chocolate chips and half and half on low heat — stir often and remove from heat
- in a bowl mix together almost melted cream cheese and sugar until it is smooth
- combine in eggs and add vanilla and the melted white chocolate combo
- scoop 1 TBSP filling into mini tins and add 1/2 TSP raspberry sauce and swirl the sauce with a knife or fork
- bake for 20 minutes or until the tops are not sticky to touch — ended up being like 17 min for me!
- let cool and refrigerate & enjoy dem gooooods
