Healthy Overnight, Banana & Peanut Butter Protein Oats!!

how to make overnight protein oats

Happy Wednesday!! 🙂

I’ve seen a lot of people post about ‘overnight oat’ recipes lately and I decided to finally give em a try! I love having healthy options in the morning that are easy to grab and eat on the go.. and this recipe is perfect for that!! Plus it doesn’t require many ingredients, is super simple, quick and easy to make! So if you’re a busy mama, a college student, a workin’ lady or just always in a hurry.. give this recipe a try!!

I tried this recipe out this morning for the first time and it’s a perfect healthy and filling option for breakfast or for a pre-workout / post-workout snack!! It’s a well rounded option since it’s packed with carbs, protein and fats (if you decide to add the peanut butter) 🙂 This is the way I like to make my overnight protein oats, but feel free to customize this bad boy to your liking and add different fruits, seeds / nuts, honey, etc!

  • 1/2 cup oats
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 scoop of protein powder (flavor of your choice.. I used banana)
  • 1 TBSP peanut butter
  • 1 chopped banana

* also need a cup with a lid to place these oats in 🙂

Combine ingredients: first combine your quick oats (I just use the 3$ Great Value brand and it gets the job done), protein powder (I used the Quest Bananas & Creme protein powder.. you can use whatever brand and flavor you prefer!!), and chopped banana in the mason jar. This would also be the time to add any additional fruit you would like to add!!

Add the almond milk & peanut butter: add the almond milk (I use un-sweetened vanilla) and peanut butter to the jar.

mix the ingredients together: mix all of the ingredients together with a fork, knife or any utensil that’ll get the job done!

cover & refrigerate: cover the mason jar with the lid and refrigerate over night!! The oats will be ready to eat in the morning 🙂

I would recommend to wait to add any nuts, seeds or honey until the morning right before you’re planning on eating the overnight oats!!

Let me know how you guys like this recipe and if you tried out any customized creations that you enjoyed!!
